The idea is that if you hover over it, it explains what the * means. Maybe there's a way we could improve this though.

ah, i see. i guess i never sat still long enough for the tooltip to appear. i think it's strange that it has 2 underlines though

It does take a few seconds for me from when I hover over the thing to when the tooltip appears, not sure why.
