## 🤖 Extending with Cognitive Memory Systems

The basic memory server provides entity storage, but production AI agents often need more sophisticated memory architectures. A **4-Tier Cognitive Memory System** extends this model:

| Tier | Storage | Purpose | Speed |
|------|---------|---------|-------|
| **Working** | Redis / RAM | Ultra-fast ephemeral cache | ⚡⚡⚡ |
| **Medium** | SQLite | Recent episodes & context | ⚡⚡ |
| **Long-Term** | Vector DB | Persistent knowledge with embeddings | ⚡ |
| **Deep** | Knowledge Graph (MCP Memory) | Complex semantic relationships | Slow |

This layered approach allows AI agents to:
- Maintain instant context (Working)
- Remember recent conversations (Medium)
- Store persistent knowledge (Long-Term)
- Build complex relationship understanding (Deep)

Example integration pattern:
```python
# Cognitive Memory Bridge
class CognitiveMemoryBridge:
async def store_interaction(self, user_id: str, content: str):
# 1. Working memory - instant cache
await redis.setex(f"session:{user_id}", content)
# 2. Medium memory - recent context
await sqlite.execute("INSERT INTO medium_memory VALUES (?)", content)
# 3. Long-term - embed and vectorize
embedding = await embed(content)
await vector_db.insert(embedding)
# 4. Deep - create graph relations
await mcp_memory.create_entities([{"name": user_id, ...}])
```
